Our Beliefs

The Bible
We believe the entire Bible, Old and New Testament, to be the verbally, and fully inspired Word of God. We believe the Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore the final authority for faith and life. We believe that God not only inspired every word, but has preserved them through the ages. We believe the King James version is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people.

[Psalm 12:6-7; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1Peter 1:20-21; 2Peter 1:19-21]

God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. [Deuteronomy. 6:4; Matthew 28:18-20; John 10:30; 14:10,26 2Corinthians 13;14].

The Son
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, was virgin born that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.

[Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2; 1:14; 2Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-8]

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. [Acts 2:22-36; Romans 3:24-25; Ephesians 1:7; 1Peter 1:3-5; 2:24].

We believe that the Lord Jesus ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.

[Acts 1:9,10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 9:24; 1John 2:1-2]

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He is the Supernatural agent in regeneration; and that He indwells, seals, and guides the believer. [John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9-14, 26; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1John 2:26-27].

We believe that God is sovereign in the giving of spiritual gifts to every believer. We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing, were temporary.

[Romans 12:3-8; 1Corinthians 12:4-11; 28; 13:8-10; 14:21-22; Ephesians 4;7-12].

Sin and Salvation
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that, in Adam’s sin, the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.

[Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17-19]

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins.

[John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; 1Peter 1:18-19]

The Local Church
We believe that the local church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again persons, with its purpose being found in the Great Commission: first, to make disciples; then, to teach them all that God has commanded. [Matthew 16:16-18; 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2:41; 1Corinthians 12:12-14; 2Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:12-14; 22-23; 5:25-27]

We believe the church is to be independent and self-governing, with the only officers being the pastor and deacons, and with Christ as the Head of the church. The only two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord’s supper. The only prerequisites for church membership are a clear testimony of faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross and believer’s baptism. By believer’s baptism we mean the immersion of one who confesses faith in Christ, and that baptism is done in obedience to Christ, under the authority of the local church, and is a picture of the believer’s identification with the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. Baptism is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord’s supper; in which the members of the church, by the sacred use of the bread and the fruit of the vine are to remember the Lord’s death till He comes again. [Acts 2:41-42; 8:36-39; 13:1-4; 20:28; Romans 6:3-5; 1Corinthians 5:11-13; 6:1-3; 11:2; 23-34; 16:1-2; Ephesians 4:11-12; Colossians 1:18; 1Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5]

Creation
We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We believe the Genesis account of the creation is to be taken literally, and that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness. We reject humanistic evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin. [Genesis 1,2; Exodus 20:11; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-16; Hebrews 1:2]

The Future Events
We believe in the future, literal and personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who will rapture His Church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. Then, at the end of the seven years, He will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the nation of Israel. After the great white throne judgment of the lost, God will make a new heavens and a new earth where the saints will dwell with God for eternity. [Psalm 89:3-4; Isaiah 65:17; Daniel 9:24; Zechariah 12:6-10; 13:1; 14:4-11; Matthew 24:29-31; Philippians 3:20-21; 1Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; 2Peter 3:3-14; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-15; 21:1-27; 22:1-5]
